GENERAL TERMS FOR ONLINE ORDERS

LEAD TIMES & ORDER AVAILABILITY

During market season (May-Oct), seven (7) days advance notice for your order is greatly appreciated. A minimum of three (3) days advance notice is required. Once your order is submitted you will receive an email response within 24 hours. Please check your spam folder - we often get booted there! Please note that payment is required in full to secure your order. Once payment has been made, your order is confirmed. Orders that have not been confirmed within 48 hours of invoicing are subject to cancellation. We will attempt to reach you via phone and email before cancelling an order.

INVOICING

Once your order is accepted you will receive a secure link to your invoice that contains a link for credit card payment. Please ensure all details of your order are correct before paying your invoice and don’t hesitate to reach out to us with questions. All invoices include 6 percent Idaho sales tax and a Stripe credit card processing fee of 2.9 percent.

ORDER CHANGES AND CANCELLATION

We kindly request five (5) days notice for any changes to your order. Changes cannot be guaranteed although we will make every effort to accommodate. All sales are final and we do not issue refunds. Credit can be issued for orders cancelled at least 4 days (96-hours) in advance.

LOCAL PICK UP

Your order can be collected from our partner pickup location, The Pickled Kitchen, located at 312 N First Ave during their normal business hours on your chosen pick up day. Please check their website to confirm hours as they are, at times, seasonally adjusted.

Order HANDLING AND STORAGE

Cupcakes and buttercream layer cakes are made with real butter and absolutely must be served at room temperature to avoid a greasy mouthfeel (gross!) We recommend removing your buttercream cake (or cupcakes) from the refrigerator 4-6 hours before service to allow it to come to room temperature. Optimal room temperature is between 68 and 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Cakes and market bakes containing ganache, custards, creams, and curds must be refrigerated when not in service and should not be left out for more than 4 hours. Serving instructions specific to your cake will be provided on the box. The Cakery on First maintains no responsibility for damage to cakes caused by improper handling and storage once they are in your possession. Please remember to keep your cake out of direct sunlight at all times. Keeping the cake level and running your car’s AC during transport is recommended.

ALLERGEN INFORMATION

The Cakery on First operates in a licensed commercial kitchen that is routinely inspected by the Panhandle Health Department. We are not a cottage food business. All items contain wheat, dairy, eggs, and may have been in contact with traces of other known allergens such as, but not limited to, peanuts, tree nuts and soy. Items labeled “gluten-free” have been prepared in this same kitchen and are not suitable for those managing celiac disease or serious gluten allergies.

MENU, DESIGN, AND SPECIAL REQUESTS

Our bakery is small and seasonal which means our cake flavors and our market menu change often. At this time we are not able to offer off-menu or custom cake flavors. We offer two different design styles for our semi-custom buttercream layer cakes: buttercream florals or buttercream ruffles with sprinkles. We do not offer character or theme cakes (most definitely not our skill set!) and we do not provide custom messaging on cakes. Please note that each cake we design is unique. Images shown on the website are examples of past orders and while your cake will be similar, it will not be an exact reproduction of any design. For custom cake orders click here.
